Bookkeeping and reports

Simple bookkeeping for Nigerian small businesses

A cashbook on your phone that adds itself up: money in, money out, who owes you, what you owe, and your profit every month.

In short: ENB's bookkeeping is a simple digital cashbook for small business owners. You record money in and out in a few taps, or upload your bank statement (CSV or Excel) and let the app sort each line into a category. You get a profit and loss report, cash flow, who owes you and what you owe with ageing, bills, budgets and a VAT summary, all in plain English and included on the free plan.

A cashbook for every account

Track bank accounts, cash, POS, mobile money and savings separately, with transfers between them and a combined balance.

Bank statement import

Upload a CSV or Excel statement from your bank app. Debit and credit columns, DR/CR and day-first dates used by Nigerian banks are understood.

Rules that learn

Tell it once that 'POS FEE' is bank charges and future lines are sorted for you.

Reports in plain English

Profit and loss, cash flow, income, expenses, customers, suppliers and tax, for any month, quarter or year, with CSV export.

Who owes you, what you owe

Unpaid invoices and bills with how late each one is, and a reminder in one tap.

Bills, budgets and recurring

Add bills with due dates and receipt photos, set monthly budgets, and record rent or salaries automatically.

How it works

  1. Add your accounts: bank, cash, POS or wallet.
  2. Record money in and out as it happens, or upload a bank statement.
  3. Check your profit, spending by category and who owes you, any time.

From notebook to cashbook

Many Nigerian businesses keep their books in a notebook or a WhatsApp chat with themselves. That works until you need to know whether last month was profitable, how much a customer still owes, or what to show a bank for a loan. ENB keeps the same simple idea, money in and money out, but adds it up for you, sorts it into categories that make sense for a Nigerian SME, and keeps invoices, payments and expenses in one place.

Reports you'll actually use

ReportWhat it tells you
Profit and lossSales minus cost of sales and expenses: did you make money this month?
Cash flowMoney in and out over time, so you can see a tight month coming.
Income and expenses by categoryWhere the money comes from and where it goes.
Customers and suppliersWho buys the most and who you spend the most with.
Receivables (who owes you)Unpaid invoices by age: not yet due, 1 to 30, 31 to 60, 61 to 90 and 90+ days.
Payables (what you owe)Unpaid bills by age.
TaxVAT on sales and purchases for the period, to hand to your accountant.

Every report exports to CSV for your accountant. The weekly money summary email tells you what's due this week.

Connected to invoicing

When a customer pays an invoice, the payment is recorded in your books automatically, so sales and cash always match. Expenses can carry VAT, so the tax report is ready when you need it.

What it isn't

ENB is bookkeeping for business owners, not full double-entry accounting for accountants. If you have a large team, inventory across warehouses or payroll with PAYE and pensions, you'll likely also need an accountant and dedicated accounting software. Most small businesses start here and hand clean exports to their accountant at year end. See how to do bookkeeping for a small business in Nigeria.

Frequently asked questions

What is the easiest way to keep business accounts in Nigeria?

Keep business money in its own account, record every sale and expense with a category the day it happens, and check a monthly profit and loss. A cashbook app that imports your bank statement does most of the work.

Can I import my bank statement?

Yes, as a CSV or Excel file (up to 5,000 lines). Lines already in your books are skipped, so importing twice is safe.

Does it do VAT?

Transactions can record VAT, and the tax report summarises VAT on sales and purchases for the period.

Do I need to be an accountant?

No. Everything is in plain words: money in, money out, who owes you, what you owe and profit.

Is bookkeeping on the free plan?

Yes. Bookkeeping, reports and bank statement import are on every plan.
