In short: ENB automations send the right message at the right time without you pressing send. A workflow starts when something happens (someone joins a list, gets a tag, has a birthday, abandons a Shopify cart, places an order or replies) and then runs steps: emails, SMS, WhatsApp messages on paid plans, waits, if/else conditions such as opened or clicked, tags, list changes and team alerts. There are 120+ ready-made workflows to start from.
Triggers
Joined a list, tag added, a yearly date (birthday, anniversary, renewal), abandoned cart, order placed, email reply, WhatsApp keyword, or started manually or by API.
Steps
Email, SMS, WhatsApp (paid plans), wait, if/else branch, add or remove a tag or list, and notify your team.
Smart conditions
Branch on opened, clicked, replied, WhatsApp read, a field, a tag or a list.
Delivery windows
Only send on chosen days and hours, in each contact's time zone, and stop when they reply.
120+ recipes
Ready-made workflows for welcome, onboarding, birthdays, reviews, re-engagement, events and more, so you only edit the words.

How it works
- Pick a ready-made workflow or start from a trigger.
- Edit the messages and waits.
- Turn it on: it runs for every new customer who matches.
Five automations every small business should run
- Welcome series: a thank-you right after someone signs up, your best products or services two days later, and a small first-order offer a few days after that.
- Birthday message: a yearly greeting with a treat. Collect the date with a signup form field.
- Abandoned cart: for Shopify stores, a reminder an hour after the shopper leaves, with the items in the email (see Shopify abandoned cart recovery).
- Post-purchase thank-you and review request: a few days after an order, ask how it went.
- Win-back: if someone hasn't opened in 90 days, a "we miss you" note, then tidy your list.
Email, SMS and WhatsApp in one flow
Each step can be a different channel. A common pattern: email first (it's the cheapest), then an SMS two days later only for people who didn't open, so you spend SMS credit only where it's needed. WhatsApp steps are available on paid plans once WhatsApp is switched on for your account (see WhatsApp status).
Safe by default
Automations respect unsubscribes and consent per channel, skip people who are already in the flow, and can stop when someone replies, so nobody gets a reminder after they've already answered you.
Frequently asked questions
What is marketing automation?
Messages that send themselves when something happens, such as a welcome email when someone joins your list or a reminder when a cart is abandoned. You set it up once and it runs for every customer.
Can automations send SMS?
Yes. SMS steps are paid per page from your SMS balance on any plan.
Are automations on the free plan?
Yes. Automations are on every plan; emails they send count toward your monthly email limit.
Can I stop an automation for one customer?
Yes. Remove them from the flow, or use the reply rule so anyone who replies leaves the flow automatically.
